Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield offers our New Baby, New Life℠ program to all pregnant members during the prenatal and postpartum period and for newborn members (through the first 90 days of life), including those hospitalized and discharged from Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU).
An important component of the prenatal program is the early identification of pregnant women. When you know a patient is pregnant, complete the State of Indiana’s Notification of Pregnancy (NOP) online form at Web interChange immediately after the patient’s visit. Once you have submitted an NOP for your patient, we will contact her to complete an OB High Risk Screener to determine if she has any case management or care coordination needs. We will also send her a packet of educational materials which includes information on nutrition; warning signs; alcohol, tobacco and substance use; breastfeeding; postpartum care and other pregnancy related topics. For more information, please review the New Baby, New LifeSM Flier.
